Why do we do it?
We believe garage sales are the easiest and most convenient way to buy and sell secondhand goods.
Being regular garage sale shoppers ourselves, we became a little frustrated with those tiny newspaper ads and their lack of detail, not to mention getting up WAY too early to shoot out at 5am to buy the newspaper, then fumbling through the street directory on the fly and giving sometimes bad directions (this can stretch even the best relationships!)
We thought people deserve to have a better option to advertise their garage sale, going online was the obvious choice because of it's popularity and flexibility. It was at that point www.whatgaragesale.com.au was born! Out of a desire to offer people better value for money advertising and really make shopping at garage sales easier.

I love garage sales for a number of reasons, the surprise factor is a big one for me. Arriving at a garage sale to find someone has got that particular item I need, it's in good condition(awesome!) and they'll part with it for $5!! You really just can't beat that "I've scored a great bargain feeling" can you? I believe garage sales are THE BEST way to shop for secondhand goods. Sure, you may have to be patient and persistant, waiting for that perfect item to show up, but surely the opportunity to save LOTS of money more than makes up for it.
